Electricity

“It’s just electricity, that’s all…he feels nothing now.

The brain went first, now it’s just electricity

Jennifer spoke and spoke after the lethal injection

Stretch, the greatest quarter horse of 24 years

He laid down without a struggle, only fluttering waves of spasms on his skin

The electricity moved across his body like shock waves for a minute or 2, then the life force was gone.

When Cody was in pre-school, we began our evening prayers with thanks for our blessings.

on this one night, after the regular list, he added

“and thank you God for ‘lissity’”

I asked what that might be

He answered ‘You know, it comes out of the clouds and Godzilla has it and you can turn it on and off with that switch on the wall…

Electricity?

Yeah, that’s it!

I wondered why he would pray for the blessing of electricity

He said that electricity is just like God

You can’t always see it, but it’s everywhere

Illumination #1
Posted: Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

When I was 4 my father came out to the yard one night to bring me back into the house. I was pointing a flashlight up into the night sky, turning it on and off, on and off, on and off, so THEY would see me. I told him I was in the wrong place and THEY should come and get me.

He told me to point the light to the top of the tree and turn it on. It was so faint that I couldn’t find the top of the tree.

Father said, “THEY can’t see your light…let’s go in now.”

ILLUMINATION #2

Then I tried putting letters in the mailbox for THEM to come and get me, but I didn’t know how to write.

Mother said, ” If it’s scribbling, how do THEY know what you want?”
